Small Stones | 8/2/16

I stood in front the refrigerator, searching. The fridge was nearly empty. My stomach growled again, and I reached for a bottle, nestled between the mustard and the Sriracha. Zesty Italian dressing is no substitute for olive oil, but it was really all I had. I checked the expiration date, fully aware that I’d had it for months, before drizzling it over the layer of frozen, Normandy mix vegetables, scattered on my baking sheet – Crinkle cut carrots, broccoli and cauliflower florets, zucchini, squash. I’d been experimenting more, getting braver in the kitchen, trying new things… let’s just hope it tastes alright.

*Every day, throughout the month of August, I will be participating in a fun writing experiment, known as Small Stones, for #AwakeAugust. To learn more, or for more examples of Small Stones, you can click here.

I am an exceedingly average, 20-something female. Very opinionated, and slightly vulgar. I am a retired World of Warcraft player and podcaster, a Netflix binge-watcher, a YouTube addict, and stay-at-home mom to a tiny future superhero.
