Our gym was supposedly closed for Memorial Day, and the doors were supposed to be locked at midnight, so yesterday was going to be an unwilling day off for us. However, Kyle said he saw numerous people coming and going yesterday morning, and there were cars in the parking lot by afternoon when we left to do errands. All the lights were on, too.
We shaped our entire day around the gym not being open, as all the signs posted informed us, and we never made it in for a workout on Kyle’s only day off this week. I don’t know what the hell happened. As I mentioned in previous gym blogs, there are only two employees, the manager and one trainer, and they both only work in a specific window. Any other time, and the gym is totally unmanned. So, someone forgot to go back in to lock the doors, I guess.
I didn’t get any exercising in, or any housework. Yesterday was… frustrating, for a whole mess of reasons I don’t feel like getting into. I was even eating somewhat healthy, until Kyle’s aunt surprised us at his mom’s house and they decided we were all going out to dinner at their usual diner. You know the type. The ones that offer “salad bars” that consist of a bowl of iceberg lettuce, a bowl of cheese, some sliced tomatoes, and croutons. Everything else on the menu is dripping in grease, or deep fried, etc.
And guess who was starving?
I should have ordered the patty melt, but my hormones demanded it (did I mention I started my period yesterday morning?). I only ate half though, so that’s something, right?
The gym is open today, but we have a ton of errands to run this morning, so I am hoping that we get back in time for kiddo’s nap, and enough time for Kyle and I to each get a workout in before he leaves for work. We’ll see. I’m tired and feeling blah, but I need to work through that.
Hopefully, today will be better.
