Dream Journal 6/17/18 | Hiding On A Farm

I was running down a crowded street, surrounded by a dozens of other people, screaming and running in every direction. It was pure chaos. There was gunfire coming from every direction, and people were getting shot and dying left and right. There was a man running right next to me, and he got shot in the head, and dropped to the ground.

I heard a scream, and turned to see a young boy near me, around eight or nine years old, who had just gotten shot in the arm. I grabbed him by the hand, and pulled him down a nearby alley. I tried to break into every door we passed, but they were all boarded up or locked. We kept running, and trying to find somewhere to hide, but the gunshots kept getting closer, and the deafening screams from before had started to quiet down.

We came out of the other side of the alley, and were suddenly on a long stretch of country road. It had gotten dark, and it was quiet. The boy was crying, and we kept running, trying to find somewhere to rest. We came across a farm, and snuck into the barn in the back. The dilapidated, old barn was filled with pigs, and they all all started squealing and making noise. We got freaked out, and left the bard, and bumped right into the farmer who owned the farm.

We started trying to run, but he told us that we were safe at the farm, and that we could stay as long as we needed to. The man took us inside the old house, which was old and falling apart, and began bandaging up the boy, who still hadn’t said a word. The kitchen we were in was old and gross, and everything looked rotten.

The next day, the man made us breakfast, and told us that we could stay, as long as we helped him around the farm. I told him that was fine, and thanked him for helping us.

A few days passed, and we helped him on the farm, and he let us stay there. One night, I was getting ready for bed, and he came into my room, and told me that he was falling in love with me, and wanted me to be his wife. I got freaked out, and told him that we had only known each other for a few days, and that I didn’t really feel that way about him. He screamed at me, and told me I had to leave, but he wouldn’t let the boy leave with me.

I left the house, and it was pitch black outside. I started walking down the road, and I could see the lights of the nearby city in the distance.

A large truck drove by, and honked loudly as it passed, making me jump. The trailer it was pulling was full of with guns, who were hollering and screaming. I crouched down in some bushes by the road, and watched the truck drive away, the sound of gunshots ringing out in the night.

And then, I woke up.
