Dream Journal 6/18/18 | The ATM

I was in the car with my mom, and she was talking about how all of her bank accounts had been frozen. She asked me if I would go inside the grocery store, and withdraw money for her from the ATM. I told her that going to an ATM couldn’t work if her accounts were frozen, and we fought about it for a while. Finally, I agreed to go in and at least try.

She parked in front of a grocery story, and I went inside. There was a long line to use the ATM, and I stood behind an old lady, who told me that she had been there all morning waiting in line. I laughed at her, and told her that she was crazy for waiting that long, and she glared at me and left. I started playing Tetris on my phone while I waited in line, and when I looked up, a women was pushing her way into the line, along with her entire family. One of the women shoved me backwards, trying to get into the line, and I shoved her back, and started yelling at them. The first woman got in my face, and started screaming at me. She was at least eight feet tall, and kept telling me she was going to kick my ass.

After the rest of the line started revolting against the woman and her family, they left, and everyone clapped. Now, there was a young woman in front of me, along with her baby boy, and she was hitting on the guy who was standing behind me. I was in the middle of them, and it was getting really awkward, so I told the man he could go in front of me so he could talk to her. He then told me that they were actually married, and he would just see her later at the house.

The woman and I got to talking, and expressing our sadness over Toys R Us and Kids R Us closing their locations, when we suddenly noticed that the line still wasn’t moving. We looked around, and saw that a second, random line had formed around the corner, and that line was feeding into the front of our line, not allowing anyone from our line to use the ATM. I marched to the front, and told the other people that they were going to have to wait in the real line, like everyone else had.

A short, stocky guy with a beard got in my face, and started yelling at me, telling me I couldn’t tell them what to do. I threatened to stab him with a pair of scissors that I suddenly had in my hand, and he backed off. Frustrated, I stayed at the front of the line and tried to use the ATM.

Of course, I couldn’t get any money out, so I left.

I told the woman with the baby that I was going to stand out front to beg for money, and she wished me luck. I went outside to tell my mom, but her car wasn’t there anymore. I started crying.

And then, I woke up.
