I was at a party at what I believe was supposed to be my sister-in-law’s house. I was standing on a large deck in the backyard, surrounded by a massive, packed group of people I didn’t know, and I was trying to get back inside. I started climbs on chair and tables, jumping from one to another, trying to get through the crowd to the house.
I slipped as I jumped off of one of the chairs, and fell over the side of the deck, landing on the grass. No one seemed to notice, but the cream-colored dress that I was wearing was covered in grass stains and dirt. I quickly ran inside, and found the laundry room, where I dug through everything trying to find some kind of stain stick or treatment. I found a pack of some weird type of Tide Pods, but they weren’t by Tide, and they looked more like Orbees. All over the packaging, the company had advertised that the little detergent balls were edible, and that they came in different flavors. I took off my dress, which had a tank top and a pair of leggings beneath it, and put it in the washer with some of the balls.
I left the laundry room, and turned a corner, and was suddenly in a very large, tacky bedroom, that looked like it had been furnished half a century ago. The walls had floor to ceiling orange wood paneling, and the carpet was shaggy and brown. The furniture was all velvet, and covered in brown and cream flowers and stripes. It was hideous.
My mom was standing in the room, along with my step-brother, and they were arguing about why the room was always so cold. My mom was telling him that he needed up try and seal all the holes and cracks in the room, but he insisted that it wasn’t because of holes or cracks. My mom then opened his closet door, which opened up into a horrifyingly massive hole, leading into what I can only describe as the underside of a mobile home, or something… but from an ant’s point of view. It seemed to stretch on for miles in every direction, and was completely dark and empty.
There was a large, perfectly formed spider web covering most of the opening into the terrifying void, complete with a puppy-sized spider at its center. I started to tell my mom about it, but she and my step brother walked right past it, and went into the void, as though it were just another room in the house. They climbed down to the dirt floor of the space. I followed silently behind them. They started arguing again, my mom telling my step brother that he needed to cover the wall, otherwise all of the spiders were going to get out.
At this point, I looked around, and noticed that I was standing in the middle of a massive tangle of webs, all occupied with spiders of various shapes and sizes. There was one particularly large spider, which was about the size of a large cat, and just as furry, inches from my head. I screamed and dropped to the ground, covering my face.
And then, I woke up.
