Dream Journal 4/10/19 | A McDonald’s Brawl

I was waiting in a very long line at McDonald’s, which was wrapped all the way around the inside, and into the bathrooms in the back. The line seemed to be moving backward, and eventually, I was standing in the middle of the women’s bathroom, which was massive. In the back of the bathroom was a large counter, complete with a register, and a  female worker standing there taking orders.

There was an older man standing a few paces ahead of me in line, and he noticed that all of the other men in line were being sent out of the bathroom and that they were angry about it. When he got up to the counter, the worker told him that he had to go into the other line that went into the men’s bathroom. He started screaming at her, and demanding service, refusing to leave. The woman in line behind him tried to push him aside, and he pushed right back, while everyone else in line started shoving their way to the front to see the commotion.

I moved toward the front, and another person in the line shoved me hard, sending my slamming into the irate man. Before I knew it, he had punched me in the stomach. The entire line descended on him, and all I could see was fists and feet as I sat on the ground, shielding myself from the flailing limbs. I managed to crawl out of the brawl and get myself over to the counter, where the worker was still standing, completely ignoring the fight happening in the room.

As though nothing had happened, I started ordering my food, and she happily punched in my order into the register. I stepped aside to the counter to wait, and the huge crowd of people who had been fighting moments ago was completely gone. I was also no longer standing in a huge bathroom, but rather, in the large, cafe style lobby of the McDonald’s. As I waited for my food, I looked out the window and could see that the same crowd of people had moved outside, but were still violently tearing at each other, as though they had just copy and pasted into a different spot.

I was still waiting for my food when the dream ended, and I woke up.
